  • Remote Business Contact Manager Database

A handy tool to ease the setup of a BCM Database: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=658

This tool allows administrators to host Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 database on a computer on which Microsoft Office 2010 and Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 are not installed. Once installed on a server, this tool will allow user to:

    • Create and backup Business Contact Manager 2010 databases. To create a database, user must be the local administrator.
    • Restore databases from Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 Beta, Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 Technical Preview, Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007, Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 and Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 (Update).

It will ensure that necessary firewall ports are opened, that users are granted permission to the database, and that the SQL instance is configured to allow external connections. These operations will require the user be a local administrator. A supported version of SQL Server need to be present in order to use this tool. Currently, this tool supports both 2005 and 2008 versions of Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Google Chrome

The new browser from Google is here in all of its simple goodness. Seems to work well in Vista Ultimate x64. Can’t wait for the Mac version to come out.

    Download it here www.google.com/chrome
Chrome a small download and takes almost no time to install. That’s gotta be good for the overall speed. Oh, and get this, each tab gets its own process, which means it should work really well with my Quad core. True multi-threading for the age of the multi-core processors.
Looks like the browser wars have heated up to a red-hot tempo.

  • iChat Screen Sharing

I had a problem with iChat screen sharing via Bonjour on my Mac. The screen sharing screen button was grayed out when I was using my LAN connection (10/100) and the connection doctor said that the connection was to slow, but when I switched to a wireless connection, it worked perfectly.

Thankfully, I found something that cleared everything up wonderfully

emeryemery on whirlpool.net.au posted this. This is a simple problem to resolve. It is caused by corrupted preferences. simply quit iChat, go to your home folder/library/preferences and delete all the files that have com.apple.ichat in the file name. Launch iChat and set up your username and password and screen sharing will be an option to enable and use.

    Thanks emeryemery

    120 Gb
    128mb radeon x1600
